Former Watchdog editor Killick to join Hill & Knowlton

LONDON - Mark Killick, former editor of the BBC's consumer champion programme 'Watchdog', which was feared by the PR industry, is to join Hill & Knowlton as a senior media consultant.

He joins H&K, a top three PR agency and part of the WPP Group, as a senior consultant to clients on media matters. Killick, who will continue to work with broadcasters as a programme consultant, will also work on the agency's business development.

Killick has worked as an investigative journalist on programmes including 'Panorama' and 'World in Action'. His most recent role was at ITV, where he was executive producer of 'Lad's Army'.

Killick said: "When I was on the receiving end of Hill & Knowlton's communications on business and consumer issues, I was impressed with its professional and imaginative approach, and I am looking forward to adding to the mix it already offers its clients."

David McLaren, chairman of H&K, said: "We are indeed fortunate to have secured Mark's services as one of Britain's most respected and knowledgeable broadcast journalists."
