Sibley left MTV in London after 10 years in March, following a restructure of the marketing department.
In his new role, he will oversee MTV and VH1 throughout Australia and New Zealand, and sit on the board of Nickelodeon Australia. He reports to Nigel Robbins, who was promoted from the managing director role to president of MTV Networks Asia-Pacific in January this year. He will be based in Sydney and takes up his role in July.
Sibley has a decade of service with MTV Networks International, having most recently served as senior vice-president and general manager for international marketing partnership, where he is credited with pioneering the marketing partnership model. During his tenure in the role, he helped to sign with brands including MSN Messenger and Converse.
"MTV now has truly established itself in Australia as the premier brand for youth, thanks to the commitment of a very talented team. I'm looking forward to capitalising on this trajectory and taking our businesses to the next level of growth," he said.
