Former DPM Prescott gets in the ring for moneysupermarket.com

Moneysupermarket.com has signed up former deputy prime minister John Prescott for its latest TV ad.

The ad, created by MCBD and due to air tomorrow, draws inspiration from Prescott's punch incident which took place 10 years ago during the 2001 General Election campaign.

In the spot, regular moneysupermarket.com frontman Omid Djalili interrupts a furious Prescott who is taking out his frustration over his car insurance renewal on a punchbag to the strains of 'Eye of the Tiger'.

In a nod to Prescott’s "Two Jags" nickname, Djalili tells him that it can be an expensive business insuring two old cars as he is no longer running the country and suggests a visit to moneysupermarket.com in order to find a good insurance deal.

David Osborne, marketing director at moneysupermarket.com, said there had been a "fantastic customer response" to the campaign since the introduction of Djali last year.
