The launch of the new DB5 -- codenamed AM305 -- is believed to be part of a ten-year restructuring plan at Aston Martin aimed at accelerating growth.
The overhaul will see production of the sports car moved from its two existing factories in Newport Pagnel and Bloxham in the Midlands to a new site at Ford's Land Rover headquarters in Warwickshire.
Although no date has yet been set for the launch of the new Aston Martin it will coincide with the launch of a new Ford -- the GT40 sports car -- which is being built to celebrate Ford's 100th anniversary in 2003.
Aston Martin's Vanquish is set to appear in the next James Bond movie featuring Pierce Brosnan. The appearance gives a boost to the brand which had lost out in the last two Bond films to BMW.
