FMCG giant Bayer reviews $1bn advertising account

LONDON - Pharmaceutical giant Bayer has announced plans to consolidate its $1bn (£609m) advertising account.

Currently, the account is handled by agencies including BBDO, JWT and Interpublic Group. A proposal concerning the review is expected later this summer.

In the UK, its consumer health care portfolio consists of brands including vitamin supplement Berocca, feminine pain relief product Feminax and ingestion ranges Alka-Seltzer and Rennie.

The company employs around 109,000 staff and has an annual turnover of more than €33bn (£28.9bn). It works across three main areas, HealthCare, MaterialScience and CropScience.

In the UK and Ireland the business generates around to €1bn (£860) in sales.
