
HeForShe Conversation with Emma Watson
Emma Watson, actress ambassador of UN initiative HeForShe, will be taking a live Q&A session in London on Sunday (8 March). Taking place at a currently secret location, the event will be streamed online, with questions and comments about gender equality submitted through social media.
Southbank Centre Women of the World Festival
The Southbank Centre in central London is currently celebrating International Women’s Day for an entire week with its Women of the World Festival. The likes of journalist Caitlin Moran, signer Annie Lennox and MP Harriet Harman are on the line-up of inspirational feminist thinkers, while an event held in partnership with magazine Stylist tomorrow (6 March) will discuss gender equality in politics.
Other brands participating include BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour and Bloomberg.
International Women’s Day at Omnicom Group
Marketing collective Omnicom Group is hosting its Omniwomen female leadership event today (5 March) in support of International Women’s Day. The event, which is taking place in the UK for the first time in London, features speakers such as minister of women and equalities Jo Swinson, ±±¾©Èü³µpk10’s global editor-in-chief Claire Beale and paralympian Karen Darke.
International Women’s Day Festival
Students from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama will host a one-day arts festival to celebrate and honour women on 8 March. Co-produced by a group of applied theatre students, the event will welcome professional theatre companies such as Clean Break, Generation Arts and Tender to host guest talks, performances, drama workshops and panel debates throughout the day.
5x15 and The Guardian
The Guardian is partnering with talk session agency 5x15 to celebrate exceptional women on 12 March. Author Judith Kerr, historian Jung Chang, forensic anthropologist Sue Black, activist Nimko Ali and DJ Annie Nightingale will assemble for a panel discussion at the Royal Geographical Society in London.
