The deal, which allows certain UFC action to be screened on Five on a delayed basis, builds on an existing deal between UFC and ESPN, through which the Disney-backed broadcaster shows all UFC action live.

Five will air UFC 102: Main Event, featuring the classic between Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, at midnight on Monday (14 September ).

In addition to UFC: Main Event, Five's sister channel, Five USA, will air UFC's reality TV series, The Ultimate Fighter. The series features 16 of the world's best unsigned mixed martial arts fighters live, training and fighting each other for the prize of a six-figure contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship claims to be the world's leading professional mixed martial arts organization.
