
The bourbon brand has partnered with London jazz bar Kansas Smitty's to create a temporary bar at what was once Leith’s Biscuit Factory at 4-6 Anderson Place. Managed by Alba events, the experience launched on 4 August and will stay open until 28 August, from 10pm to 3am each evening.
Guests can enjoy julep cocktails and classic American soul food such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and buttermilk pancakes as well as talks, tastings and late-night jazz raves with Kansas Smitty's resident eight-piece jazz band.
The train operator laid on a one-off comedy coach travelling between London King's Cross and Edinburgh Waverley on 9 August. The coach was hosted by comedian Nick Page and featured performances from Edinburgh Festival favourites Kane Brown, Katie Mulgrew, Ray Bradshaw and Jo Caulfield.
Comedy fans had to apply for tickets via Twitter. The event showcased Virgin's newly refurbished King’s Cross to Edinburgh service and arrived at Edinburgh Waverley at 2.13pm in time for passengers to explore the Festival.
Buffalo Trace is screening a range of classic western movies at its pop-up film festival, the 'High Noon Theatre & Saloon', at the Lucky Liquor bar on Queen Street this week (8-14 August). Movies being shown include The Magnificent Seven, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, cult comedy Blazing Saddles, and acclaimed Quentin Tarantino film The Hateful Eight.
Guests are encouraged to come along in costume and are greeted by actors in full western gear who are on hand to bring the scenes of the movies to life and serve authentic Buffalo Trace cocktails at key points during the screenings.
Edinburgh Gin
The Edinburgh tipple is headlining the Edinburgh Gin Garden in St Andrew Square until the end of August with Edinburgh Gin ambassadors holding impromptu tastings from a bespoke Edinburgh Gin summerhouse.
The brand will also stage a further two pop-ups; the Edinburgh Gin Fizz Terrace next to its distillery in Rutland Place Terrace from 5-31 August and a temporary bar in East Princes Street Gardens beside The Scottish Café from 5-29 August, as well as putting on its own Fringe show.
Famous Grouse 
Back by popular demand, The Famous Grouse House will be hosting free, live music from established and up-and-coming bands and musicians at its pop-up in George Street, New Town, from 11am to midnight until 30 August.
The space has been designed to give a modern twist on The Famous Grouse brand. Acts so far have included Nina Simone Black Diva Power from Australia, Ticket to Bollywood from India and local group Indigo Velvet.
