Five acts confirmed for first heat of The Next Big Thing at ISES AGM

Wannabe corporate entertainment acts will be battling it out at Forman's Fish Island on Tuesday 21 July for a place in the final of X-Factor-style competition The Next Big Thing, taking place at Event UK in The NEC from 22-23 September.

The brainchild of Event UK organisers and sponsored by Event magazine, The Next Big Thing's first qualifying heat will see dancer Jerry Jack, magician and comedian Mime the Gap, classical singer Matthew Crane, rapper B.A.D MC and magician Sean Heydon battle it out for a place in the final.

There will also be a surprise act confirmed this week, so look out for that.

Compered by Event magazine editor Jeremy King, the qualifying heat features a panel of judges that includes Sternberg Clarke managing director Adam Sternberg, Eventia CEO Izania Downie, ISES incoming president Zanine Adams and Forman's Fish Island managing director Lance Forman.

The audience will also be given the opportunity to cast their votes courtesy of IML's digital voting pads.
