Findus and Tesco run joint online promotion

Frozen food brand Findus (www. findus.co.uk) has teamed up with

Tesco (www.tesco.com) in a five-figure online campaign promoting the

launch of a new freezer range called Wok.

The campaign, which will run throughout this month, follows the rollout

of the Findus UK site in July. It aims to increase awareness and sales

of Findus products generally and the Wok range in particular, which is

being launched exclusively in Tesco this month.

An interstitial page, accessed via a banner ad, is running within

Tesco's shopping portal, giving price details of the new range and other

Findus products. Users are then invited to click through to a microsite

to enter a competition to win a stay in the Ice Hotel in Sweden, where

Findus is based.

Suzanne Nagle, European marketing director of Findus, said: "Using the

net is one of today's new exciting ways to talk to your consumers in a

direct way. Online promotions, such as we have done with Tesco, give an

immediate opportunity for customers to find out about our products and

of course to buy them."

Marketing and creative consultancy Windmill, in conjunction with agency

x, the web agency formed by former Clever Media staff, designed the

campaign.

The two companies worked together to create Findus' UK site.
