Financial Times launches 'Lunch with the FT' promotion

LONDON - The Financial Times is to launch its annual 'Lunch with the FT' promotion next week, sponsored by Australian winery Penfolds.

The promotion sees 400 of the UK's top restaurants offering an exclusive FT lunch or dinner for £8, £10, £12.50 or £15. 'Lunch with the FT' will be launched in the Weekend FT on Saturday January 18 with a full list of all participating restaurants.

The list can also be seen online on FT.com every day from January 18 until February 7. The promotion itself runs from January 20 until February 9.

To raise money for Save the Children, the UK's leading international children's charity, diners are encouraged to make a donation to the charity after their meal.

The promotion has been extensively advertised in the Financial Times and on FT.com during the week running up to the launch. Advertising will continue throughout the duration of the offer and there will be a promotional skyline on the front page of Weekend FT. Emails have also been sent directly to FT.com subscribers and FT Direct customers informing them of this special offer.

Tim Ward, UK marketing director, commented: "We are delighted to extend this popular and long-running programme to the FT's entire loyal customer base. 'Lunch with the FT' is now available to both FT.com users and FT newspaper readers, allowing all our customers to enjoy this fine dining offer."

Around 400,000 readers are expected to take part in the promotion.

According to Nicholas Lander, the FT's restaurant correspondent: "The number and quality of the participating restaurants across the UK is incredible, and the promotion provides a great opportunity for our readers to try the finest cuisine at the lowest prices."
