FIFA seeks shop for website task

FIFA, football's world governing body, is holding a pitch to find a digital agency to merge its FIFA.com and World Cup 2010 websites into one domain.

The agency will be tasked with designing and building a single FIFA site, as well as providing technical support until the end of the 2010 World Cup.

The website for this year's World Cup tournament, which is accessible in eight languages via mobile phone for the first time, was developed by official FIFA partner Yahoo!

Yahoo! provides technical and marketing support for the site and may continue to provide the latter following its overhaul.

Editorial content is handled by FIFA; the responsibility for this will remain in-house.

The revamped FIFA website is due to be unveiled in March 2007.
