The move is a significant one for FCBi because it gives the Interpublic Group direct and digital agency data processing and insight tools across Europe.
"We now have massive data processing and insight tools to support our in-house planning and analytic capabilities, right across the European network," Neil Fretwell, FCBi managing partner for data, said.
Nick Silk will be transferring from ClarityBlue to FCBi's Resolution division in London as managing director. He is currently practice director for customer acquisition at data specialist ClarityBlue.
The two companies already have a working relationship due to their work on Lloyds TSB Goldfish and Lloyds TSB loans.
According to Silk: "Data has now become fundamental to nearly every client's communications and marketing strategy and this venture will propel FCBi to the top of the major league in terms of customer insight and value-added output."
FCBi said that development was prompted by projected future increases in the use of mobile telephony as a direct advertising medium, which will in turn generate large amounts of consumer data, necessitating high-volume data facilities management such as Resolution.
