Martin Wright takes over at FCBi Europe

Martin Wright has been made the president of Interpublic Group's below-the-line network, FCBi Europe.

Wright takes over from David Poole, who is leaving to pursue interests outside the industry, following a 30-year career in direct marketing.

Poole resigned at the beginning of the year. His departure coincided with the completion of a three-year earn-out period following the acquisition of DP&A, the agency that he founded ten years ago, by IPG. DP&A became the London office of the FCBi network.

Wright takes over next month. He joined the agency in June as the European business development director, from TBWA\GGT, with a view to succeeding Poole.

Wright joined TBWA\GGT in 1995 as the board director for marketing. During his time there, the agency picked up accounts including Abbey, NatWest and ASB Bank New Zealand.

Poole said: "Martin's decision to join us and take over from me was the final piece in the jigsaw. We now have impressive capabilities in Europe and I'm excited by the opportunities."
