The 'youngtrepreneur' candidate will ideally be under the age of 30 and will be tasked with upskilling a mentee who is looking to get in line with today’s emerging business practices in the events industry. The reverse mentor will focus on new technologies, marketing techniques, the sharing economy, new social media channels and online platforms.
The role has been devised in response to two years of mentee feedback on the Fast Forward 15 programme and underlines how business is changing. The programme has been instrumental in helping females in the events and hospitality sector and has become synonymous with developing careers through instilling personal confidence in the mentees.
Sharpe said: "This is an exciting opportunity for one of today’s event entrepreneurs to help guide and forge a mentee's future in the industry. It’s really important that we keep our mentoring relevant for future talent, hence my search for a reverse mentor. The programme has undoubtedly had proven success in developing careers and this further widens the scope of who we can support through Fast Forward 15."
