Facebook and Twitter go head-to-head on Current TV

LONDON - Facebook and Twitter are going head-to-head in a race against time as Current TV launches a unique TV experiment, which will pit the two against each other as they solve daily challenges with the help of their online communities.

Shipped to random destinations and armed with a list of daily challenges, two opposing teams of Current TV presenters will use their respective communities to guide them through their mission.

answer the question -- which website wields the greatest influence, the tweets of the Twitter community or the Facebook friends?

The two teams, one male and one female, will embark upon their journey live on Current TV's 'Upstream' on Monday 8th June at 7pm.

They will set off from their London base to a chosen destination, which, alongside their first task, will be revealed on the first show.

The battle of both sexes and social media will ultimately reveal which team and which network really has the best connections.

Once each task is completed, the teams will report back via webcam on the live episodes of Current TV's 'Upstream', which showcases the latest trends in technology, gaming, movies and weird science.

On Sunday, the contest will culminate with an hour long live special hosted by home grown Current talent, JCX and Slick.

The show will see the announcement of the winner and feature highlights of the best moments from their team's journeys.
