Facebook craze lands Swindon hospital staff in hot water

LONDON - Seven staff at a Swindon hospital face disciplinary action after being caught posting pictures of themselves on the Facebook group for the 'Lying Down Game'.

The game, which has been dubbed the new "internet craze", requires people to be photographed lying face down in an unlikely location.

In mid-August employees of Swindon's Great Western Hospital were found to have posted pictures of themselves lying face down on ward floors, resuscitation trolleys and the building's helipad.

The pictures have since been removed from , however the employees involved are considered to have breached health and safety regulations, despite an admission by the hospital that no patients were put at risk.

The Lying Down Game group on Facebook has over 55,000 members. It claims the game was originally created by two men from Somerset.

There are two general rules behind the game:
1) The more public the better,
2) The more people involved the better.

"Please be aware that the palms of your hands must be flat against your side and the tips of your toes pointing at the ground. Just as if you were standing, but vertically challenged," reads a description on the site.

There are 13,400 pictures on the Facebook group consisting of people lying in many different scenarios including on fences, cars and banisters.
