The offer is delivered by Hamilton in a voicemail message on Vodafone's new BlackBerry Curve model. The phone, included in a personalised mailpack created by agency Partners Andrews Aldridge, has been sent to 18 of the phone operator's corporate clients.

The satellite navigation system in the Blackberry has been pre-programmed with directions to enable the recipient to find the McLaren Technology Centre, where the event is to take place.

Joanne Werker, senior channel marketing manager at Vodafone said: "This campaign has set the tone for an incredible experience and brings the event to life."

Vodafone has sponsored the McLaren Formula One team since the start of 2007, making the official team name Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. Prior to this, the mobile phone operator had sponsored rival team Ferrari since 2002.
