Experian launches data cleansing for Irish businesses

LONDON - Businesses in Ireland can now benefit from online data cleansing with the launch of Experian Intact, which claims to be a first for the Irish market.

The service means companies can clean, suppress and improve their data round the clock, using Irish sources.

According to Experian, 10% of Irish household data becomes obsolete each year. Companies will now be able to access tools such as population profiling, gone-away and deceased suppression, the Mailing Preference Service and Experian's national address file, through Intact.

The launch follows Experian's takeover of Ireland Direct Communications last year.

David Coupe, managing director of Experian's international marketing services division, said: "For the first time, businesses in Ireland have at their disposal the industry's most powerful online data cleansing service.

"Today's launch affirms our ongoing commitment to making our data integrity solutions available to an international audience and to help them keep their data accurate and up to date throughout the course of the customer lifecycle."

Experian acquired the Dublin-based firm in September 2004. This was followed by the acquisition of address management software company QAS, US firm Simmons Research and, most recently, consumer consultancy the Future Foundation Group.
