Expedia UK boss promoted to top European position

Online travel company Expedia is seeking a UK marketing director, following the promotion of Beverly Shaw to the new role of pan-European marketing director at IAC Travel, Expedia's parent company.

Shaw, who joined Expedia UK from Coca-Cola 12 months ago, will now focus on marketing for Expedia and TV Travel Shop in their European territories, which include France, Germany and Italy.

The role has been created as IAC Travel tries to expand the reach of its online brands. Shaw will be responsible for building awareness of the Expedia brand in Europe and driving traffic and sales to its local territory web sites.

Under Shaw, Expedia UK appointed Clemmow Hornby Inge to its £10m advertising account and moved its offline media planning and buying from Media Planning Group to PHD.

IAC Travel is a division of IAC/InterActive Corp, which encompasses major online brands including Ticketmaster and Hotels.com.

Shaw will report to Marc Ruff, who manages all of IAC's French business.
