Expedia takes viewers on perfect trip in new TV drive

LONDON - Expedia is asking viewers 'What's your perfect trip?' in a new series of television commercials starring an animated character.

The 40-second ads, created by Clemmow Hornby Inge, break on April 24. Two spots, "choices" and "where", use an animation technique developed by Daniel Greaves, who has won an Oscar for his short film 'Manipulation'.

CHI creative director Charles Inge created the ads, which were directed by Greaves through Tandem films.

The television campaign is part of a wider marketing push for the online travel firm, which will feature posters, press and online advertising. The interactive campaign includes 40 executions, ranging from mini-buttons to Flash-enabled skyscrapers, created by Arnold Interactive.

Offline media planning and buying is by the Media Planning Group, and online is by Media Contacts.

Beverly Shaw, marketing director of Expedia.co.uk, said: "We're really excited about this new campaign as it takes us to the next stage of Expedia's brand development in the UK and looks forward to us building the brand for the future.

"When it comes to holidays, everybody looks for something unique, so what we're looking to do is empower and enable them to make the best possible choice."
