Expedia splits marketing department into three

Expedia, the online travel agent, has revamped its European marketing department as it looks to 'get closer to consumers'.

Andrew Warner, marketing director at Expedia EMEA, has split the department into three sections: a regional marketing managers group, an interaction group, and a customer experience team.

The interaction group will handle PR, experiential marketing and social media. Warner has hired Peter Parkes as head of social media. Parkes held the same role at Skype.

Jill Lloyd has been hired to lead the company's PR activity. She was formerly head of digital PR at agency LBi.

Expedia unveiled its latest campaign this month with the strap 'People-shaped travel'.
