Terry Pullen, who runs a number of restaurants and hotels in Surrey and Kent, has taken on the Bloomsbury Ballroom. He is the former owner of the Ten Rooms, New Connaught Rooms and Tokyo Joes.

The venue, which was formerly owned by the , has been restored by Pullen back to its art deco origins and is hosting its first event on Wednesday 5 September for Loaded magazine.

Pullen, who hasn't owned a venue in the capital for five years, has been looking for an event space to buy for the past year.

"I didn't want to come back to London to run restaurants or clubs, but instead find a pure event space. With the Bloomsbury Ballroom we have been able to restore it to its former art deco origins, while at the same time offering the latest technological features," explained Pullen.

"I want to offer an independently owned event space that can cater for everything from large corporate events to private celebrations."

The venue, which has a 700 guests capacity, also has a late licence until 3am and a wedding licence.

Pullen has turned to event agency Honest to come up with the creative concepts and help run events at the venue.

One of the first tasks for Pullen and Honest is to come up with a Christmas events strategy that will allow clients to hire a blank space, or a themed festive venue.
