The deal with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) was finalised at PCMA’s Convening Leaders conference in San Diego last week.

It will develop a series of joint initiatives targeting the North American corporate and association meeting planning community.

James Rees, director of conferences and events at Excel, said the partnership would bring more North American meetings and events to the venue. "PCMA is the organisation best positioned to connect Excel with this market and we know they share our vision and passion for innovation and partnerships in the meetings industry," he said.

Deborah Sexton, chief executive of PCMA, said: "As an association we’re looking to grow our influence in the UK and Europe, so we’re delighted to be working with one of the most exciting and successful venues in these territories. Excel also has some of the very best meetings technology around, something we’re particularly passionate about sharing with our members."
