
Talking about the move, Rees said: "I'm very pleased to have joined the AEV board as the Excel London representative, and taking Kevin’s seat at the table following his retirement. I'm looking forward to a busy year of championing the needs and concerns of venues at every level, and collaborating with our sister associations, ESSA and AEO, to collectively achieve more for all of our members."
Dominic Fleming, business development director of ArenaMK, has also joined AEV’s board to represent the Milton Keynes venue for the first time. This is Fleming's second time on the board, having formerly sat as the representative of Telford International Centre.
said: "As a recent arrival to the association myself, I'm delighted to see new faces on the board and I'm confident our three newest members will be valuable additions, bringing their varied expertise and experience to bear on the issues we tackle on behalf of the membership."
Dan Thurlow, director of exhibition sales at Scottish Event and Conference Centre (SECC), joined the AEV board in December 2014, bringing SECC back to the table after a short absence.
Other board members represent Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre, Earls Court and Olympia Venues, London’s Business Design Centre, ACC Liverpool, Alexandra Palace, the Barbican Centre, Farnborough International, Harrogate International Centre, The International Centre, Telford, and The O2.
