LONDON - Everton Football Club has invested in new mobile technology to enhance interaction with its fans.

The Premier League club has partnered with Mobile Media Production and ikan-media to launch a new range of mobile services including competitions, quizzes, text comments, and ‘man of the match' voting. Oxygen8 Communications has provided the infrastructure, supporting the real-time messaging platform SHOUTLIVE.NET.

Everton is the first football club to be using the new SHOUTLIVE.NET platform, which allows companies to create and run innovative SMS services,

Mark Rowan, head of media and communications at Everton, said, 'We wanted to be able to utilise the latest mobile technology in order to enhance interaction with our fans and provide them with some innovative, compelling mobile content that makes them feel more closely connected to the club.'
