The Sustainable Sport and Event Toolkit (SSET), was developed by the International Academy of Sport Science and Technology (AISTS) and the Vancouver Olympic Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.

It provides a step-by-step guide for event organisers to create a sustainable commitment and strategy across areas such as site selection and construction, community and supply chain and athlete and public engagement.

"Social and environmental sustainability are two of the biggest issues facing the global events industry today and the Sustainable Sport and Event Toolkit is a massive development in the field. Scotland's event owners will now have free access to this invaluable resource, which will provide guidance and support in developing and implementing a sustainability strategy for their event," said EventScotland chief operating officer Paul Bush OBE.

The Toolkit is free for Scottish event organisers.
