Exhibition firm Tarsus Group has joined experiential agency George P Johnson in supporting the Apprentice-style competition by offering a job to the best candidate.

The role will be that of sales executive, working across Tarsus Group’s Labels and Packaging portfolio of events, held in far-flung destinations across the world.

Both finalists will be assessed on their individual skills, and be placed into the roles accordingly.

Organised by ESP Recruitment and supported by Event magazine and UBM, the competition is designed to bring the next generation of talent into the event industry.

Last year's winner of the inaugural Eventice was Mairead Ball, who won herself an events job at Excel London after impressing a string of high-profile industry judges.

To stand a chance of taking part in The Eventice all you have to do is send us a copy of your CV including name and contact details, a profile picture and a two-minute video telling us why you want to work in the event industry; what you can bring to a role in the industry; and why should the judges choose you.

Event will be hosting the videos and CVs and providing regular updates on The Eventice.

Those selected to take part in the competition will be split into groups and given a brief to create an event. They will then be asked to come to London from 6-8 March during International Confex at Excel London to present their ideas and take part in a number of challenging event management tasks, which will be marked by a team of industry experts over the entire three days.

How to enter The Eventice

To enter the Eventice, which is free for all final year event management students, all you have to do is send in a video of yourself answering the four questions below, together with a low resolution head and shoulders photo and your current CV including your name, email address and daytime telephone number to theeventice@haymarket.com.

Candidates also need to provide the name of the course they are taking, graduation date and the name of the university they are completing the course at.

Candidate's pictures and videos will be posted up on The Eventice channel in a graduation gallery, which will be seen by the industry and could lead to further work experience or actual work offers.

Questions to answer on video are:

Why are you studying an event management course?

Why do you think you should win The Eventice?

Who in the world, dead or alive, do you most admire and why?

What is the best event you have ever been to and why?

Follow The Eventice on Twitter at @Eventice. Deadline for entering the competition is Friday 6 January 2012.
