I got into the event industry because I believed there was an opportunity to take a different approach to creating a strategic impact for clients running events.
I have worked here since September 2011.
I was attracted to this particular role because I felt that the opportunity of enhancing attendee experience and stakeholder ROI was something that IML was ideally positioned to exploit.
Not many people know that I have completed three Ironman triathlons and I used to be a ski guide.
My worst experience at an event was speaking at a forum for financial directors in London in the maelstrom of the financial crisis, having to tell them at every session that another bank had potentially collapsed or needed saving.
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s panic solves nothing.
The best event I’ve been involved in was the original Live Aid – a fantastic achievement across the globe.
If I could do it all over again I would become an astronaut.
The one thing I can’t stand is a lack of integrity.
Outside of work I spend my time with my family and doing triathlons.
If money were no object I’d retire.
The one thing I can’t do my job without is a decent cup of tea in the morning.
If I could switch places with anyone else in the industry it would be the roadies for One Direction.
If I ruled the event industry all clients and event organisers would be thinking and planning ahead and incorporating all the technology they need.
