I got into the event industry because I wanted to do a job that is creative and collaborative day in, day out, and for the buzz of the live event – when it is delivered perfectly following months of planning.
I have worked here since January 2013.
I was attracted to this particular role because HSE Cake (formerly Cake) is famous for brand entertainment and I wanted to work with an experiential agency that pushed the boundaries to really entertain consumers.
Not many people know that I would drop everything to play as fly-half for Wales in the Rugby World Cup.
The best event I’ve been involved was the award-winning Virgin Atlantic #Flightdecks – it included a gig on a plane with Rudimental and Gorgon City, which was live streamed over the Atlantic ocean en-route to Atlanta. Awesome!
If I could do it all over again I would spend more time working in the sunshine; outdoor events are more fun with less rain.
The one thing I can’t stand is a low quality finish on a physical build piece.
Outside of work I spend my time looking after my six-month old daughter Ava-Iris. She is my world.
If money were no object I would take Ava-Iris to Lapland to see Father Christmas, not that she knows about St. Nick yet as she’s too young. Oh and buy a massive yacht and sail about on it in the Caribbean.
If I could switch places with anyone else in the industry it would be the agent for YouTube vloggers. There must be some nice commission to make there.
If I ruled the event industry I would make every on-stage presentation as strong as Steve Jobs' launch of the iPhone and use immersive 3D binaural sound with 360-degree video everywhere I could.
