I got into the event industry because I wanted to have a job where I could use the skills I had learnt in the theatre, and instead of performing a play every night create something truly unique and special just for one night only.

I have worked here since I founded Private Drama 18 years ago in 1995.

I was attracted to this particular role because I get the opportunity to work with some incredibly creative people on unforgettable parties and events.

Not many people know that I was in Doctor Who.

My worst experience at an event was leaving my dinner jacket at home for a black tie event.

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s the devil’s in the detail.

The best event I’ve been involved in was a 50th birthday party in a palazzo in Florence called Renaissance to Rap. We re-created an evening of the Italian renaissance with magical strolling outdoor entertainment, trumpeters on the battlements, an orchestra, dancers and singers and a whole support team of dressers, make-up artists and costume supervisors. The evening finished with dancing under the stars whilst Kanye West DJ'd into the early morning.

If I could do it all over again I would try not to worry so much.

The one thing I can’t stand is chocolate fountains.

Outside of work I spend my time cooking and listening to music. I love to ski when I can forget everything.

If money were no object I would have sushi every day.

The one thing I can’t do my job without is my iPhone.

If I could switch places with anyone else in the industry it would be Danny Boyle. I would have loved to have created the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games. I can’t imagine doing anything better.

If I ruled the event industry I would ban the overused expression: "I want the wow factor!"
