Now in its eleventh year, the upmarket car boot will take place in both London and Margate across the summer, selling works ranging from one pound to £1,000.
Alongside the fair, the event will also include the Dog in a Boot show, which will give dogs and owners the chance to be photographed together in a car boot by artist Maria Teresa Gavazzi. Featured artists have also been invited to present canine-influenced artworks as part of the fair.
Guests not looking to buy will be able to enjoy an entertainment stage hosted by Richard Strange’s Cabaret Futura. The daylight cabaret, which promises to highlight the event’s English eccentricity, will feature singers, stand-ups and performance acts.
The London session will take place on 14 June in Brick Lane Yard, while the Margate event will take place on 30 August at the Turner Contemporary. The latter will see Vic Reeves make an appearance alongside other, unconfirmed ‘Kentish talent’.
Denis Chick, director of communications at Vauxhall Motors, said: "The Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair has a special place in our event calendar, showcasing the best of British art and for one-day only, making it accessible to anyone and everyone. It also gives us a chance to ‘fire up’ our fabulous Vauxhall heritage fleet."
