The brand invited consumers to pen their ideas on Tiger Beer coasters, which were handed out at bars across the country.

These could then be submitted via white branded boxes within the venues that stated ‘every film starts with a blank canvas’.

The Tiger Beer Malaysia team reviewed thousands of submissions, and individuals with the most interesting and unique ideas, thoughts and/or illustrations were selected as cast members to feature in the Coaster film.

Hollywood director Balthasar Kormákur was also enlisted to mentor the team on the project via Skype.

The campaign was designed to promote the brand’s new Tiger White wheat beer product in Malaysia, and the film is said to have been inspired by the product.

The result is a 16-minute short film that is set in locations including an upmarket restaurant and bustling commercial kitchen.
