Passers-by have stopped off throughout the day to pour themselves a complimentary beer. The first 100 people were invited to pick a glass ‘beerble’ from the tree, which they could pour their beverage into.
The fir tree is complete with a large white bow, and it is surrounded by Carlsberg’s signature green branding. It features white and gold bauble decorations and a large beer hop sits on top of the tree.
Brand representatives have been handing out complimentary beer and prizes throughout the day, and those who can’t make it down to the tree are being invited to tune into social media for information about how to win gifts, including a year’s supply of Carlsberg.
The stunt is designed to celebrate an award-winning year for the brand, and to wish Brits a 'hoppy' Christmas.
This latest activity is similar to , which pleasantly surprised people in east London’s Shoreditch in April.
