Targeting shoppers in retail destinations in the run up to Christmas, the stand has been designed to cover the three core device USPs of the phone, including low light photography, two day battery life and being waterproof.
Visitors are able to test the waterproof feature for themselves by activating a high pressure pump, submerging a fully-functioning device into a tank full of water. A Sony PlayStation 4 Remote Play game is also available on the stand for guests to battle it out against one another for a chance to win prizes.
So far, the experience has seen Sony brand ambassadors give more than 22,000 hands-on demonstrations. Louise and Sam Thompson from Made in Chelsea also made an appearance at Westfield London to promote the brand as the official handset partner of the TV show.
The activation will head to Manchester's Intu Trafford Centre on 29 November until 19 December.
Catherine Cherry, Sony Mobile Communications marketing director for north west Europe, told Event: "The new Xperia Z3 series has so many great features we wanted to bring the best of them to life. The stand not only demonstrates the devices’ waterproof feature, but attracts passers by to come and try the products out for themselves.
"The feedback we’ve had so far has been fantastic and we’ve seen a spike in sales in these areas as a result."
