The O2 Possessed house was powered by electronic tablets, smartphones, wireless speakers, smart lighting, and other everyday devices to create a scary experience in time for Halloween. Visitors were led through five 'haunted' rooms featuring sinister dolls, screaming projections and flickering lights.
A preview night (29 October) was held for celebrities prior to opening up to the public, which saw reality TV personalities Lucy Watson, Helen Flanagan and Rylan Clark explore the Shoreditch experience. More than 50,000 O2 customers registered to visit the venue the next day via the O2 Priority app.
All the scares were controlled by and set up by O2’s technology 'gurus'. The brand worked with creative agency VCCP to produce the activation.
Kristian Lorenzon, head of social media at O2, said: "We love helping our customers get the most out of their technology and O2 Possessed helped to bring smart tech to life in a really fun way. The days and nights of fright were powered by technology you can buy in O2 stores and that our very own gurus can help set up, hence why we wanted to make the haunted house both inspiring and terrifying."
