The house was only open to committee members, athletes and media, but Event was lucky enough to be given a private tour to of the 17 rooms that made up the experience by the agency's executive producer Simon Mayne.
As Mayne explains, each room was given a lavish Arabic makeover, the Majlis decked out in decorative lounge furniture, the Souk filled with the scents of Arabian Oud and a temporary rooftop chillout space offering views over the capital.
As well as providing a sumptuous setting for guests to relax in, the house highlighted the progress Qatar has made in relation to sports development, particularly among women, and its wider cultural, educational, and economic aspirations.
