Event TV: Immersive Magical Lantern Festival to make UK debut

London's Chiswick House Gardens is to play host to the UK's first Magical Lantern Festival in celebration of Chinese New Year and the Year of the Monkey.

The immersive festival experience will be unveiled on 3 February and enjoy a five-week residency. The London instalment will draw on the festival's 2,000-year heritage and combine lights, art, performances and cuisine. 

The festival is to include a total of 50 lantern installations, which will interact with guests and immerse them in the world of Chinese culture. Highlights include a 66-metre long dragon, an eight-metre high porcelain Imperial Palace lantern and life-sized Terracotta Army. The Mount Huaguo lantern will be installed to celebrate the Year of the Monkey.

The Corrdiors of Light installation will lead guests into a series of different zones, including the Animal Kingdom - which features illuminated flamingos, zebras and elephants, an Enchanted Forest complete with a tree of life lantern and exploding flowers, an entertainment zone and food and gift market.
