The only jobs ranked more stressful than an event coordinator were enlisted military personnel, fire fighter, airline pilot and police officer.
The US-based CareerCast, which determined the average salary of an event coordinator to be $46,490 (£32,953), gave the job a stress score of 49.93. In comparison, a military job was given a score of 84.78.
The least most stressful job - information security analyst - was given a stress score of 3.80.
The company determined the numbers by analysing 11 stress factors: travel, deadlines, working in the public eye, competitiveness, physical demands, environmental conditions, hazards encountered, the life of oneself or others at risk, meeting and interacting with customers and/or the public, and the potential for job growth.
CareerCast explained the high ranking of a job in events to be down to 'reconciling a client’s vision with a successful end-result'. It added that 'Bringing together ideas and turning them into a functioning, large-scale event takes an unflappable professional'.
Published last year, Event’s Stress Survey determined that 33% of participating UK event profs felt their employer did not view stress as a genuine health concern. A total of 83% stated that they believe stress to be a significant problem within the sector.
