
At the start of the day the four judges - Dow Jones event manager Angus Peckham-Cooper, One Marylebone head of events Andrew Morrow, Seventeen Events managing director Andrew Williams and Event magazine editor Jeremy King - were fresh faced and most importantly very hungry.
By 6pm they had worked their way through ten menus from four caterers - The Recipe, Moving Venue Caterers, Sodexo Prestige and Zafferano - and were ready to sleep it all off.
For the first time ever the finalists for the prestigious title of Caterer of the Year for the Event Awards had to recreate the menus they entered on one day in a neutral venue.
The result was some amazing food, lots of intellectual deliberation, an example of the amazing food that is available for events, and ultimately four very full judges. .
