Evening Standard rebrands website

LONDON - The London Evening Standard will rebrand Thisislondon.co.uk to Standard.co.uk from next Monday (29 September).

Standard.co.uk, which previously housed some of the newspaper's news content along with campaigns such as its promotion of drinking tap water, will now provide access to the Standard's London news, business, sport, comment and analysis.

Journalists Andrew Gilligan and business editor Chris Blackhurst will be among those featured on the site, which will carry a mix of unique content updated throughout the day and news that will appear in the newspaper.

Andrew Mullins, managing director of the Evening Standard, said that "if we have a breaking news story we want it to be on the web". He added that the change will bring about clarity and a "genuine multi-platform consumer and commercial offering".

Thisislondon.co.uk, which will still act as the Standard's entertainment guide, will now become a channel of standard.co.uk.

Advertising sales will continue to be handled by Associated Newspaper's digital division and cross-platform deals will be brokered by the Evening Standard's display advertising sales team.
