Evening Standard launches month-long food festival

London Evening Standard Food Month, which takes place between 1 and 30 June, will be creatively directed by food writers Grace Dent and Tom Parker Bowles.

As creative directors, Dent and Parker Bowles will curate a programme of hundreds of events taking place throughout London featuring chefs, restaurants, hotels, and bars showing off the capital’s food scene.

Dent, a restaurant reviewer for ES Magazine, said: "We’ll be eating the entire world, in one city, 24 hours a day. London loves food and we’re here to prove it."

The centrepiece of London Food Month will be the Night Market, an outdoor dining experience held at a London park over 12 evenings. The park will be named in April.

London Food Month also promote awareness of food waste and hunger in tandem with charity partner The Felix Project.

Jon O’Donnell, the managing director of ESI Commercial, said:"London is the culinary capital of the world; there’s nowhere else that offers such a diverse range of food from street markets to fine dining.

"Bringing this content to life has always been our ultimate ambition and London Food Month will allow us to do exactly that."
