Eurostar replaces Nugent as it "re-thinks" its marketing activity

LONDON - Eurostar has promoted its director of sales, Emma Harris, to director of sales and marketing in the UK.

The move comes after it was announced that the firm’s head of UK marketing, Greg Nugent, will be working with Eurostar chief executive, Richard Brown, and commercial director, Nick Mercer. He will be looking after special projects for the high-speed train operator.

Harris will begin her new role on November 14. No other structural changes to the marketing team have been announced.

The cross-Channel high-speed train operator is still operating a limited service after a fire in the Channel tunnel on September 11.

A spokesperson at Eurostar said: "Emma has been given a wider brief in her new role. After the incident in the tunnel, marketing plans for the rest of the year have had to be adjusted.

"I can't speculate on what Emma's brief will be but we will have to re-think our marketing activity from now until the end of 2008."

EHS Brann, Tullo Marshall Warren and WAVV Rapp Collins are currently pitching for Eurostar's pan-European below-the-line account.
