Euro RSCG to focus on global brands with new position

NEW YORK - Euro RSCG Worldwide has promoted David Jones to the newly created role of executive vice-president and managing director of global business as it seeks to focus on a new global brand model.

Jones will be responsible for global management across all of Euro RSCG's brands and clients.

Prior to his new role, Jones served as global brand director on Euro RSCG's Reckitt Benckiser business. He has also worked with advertisers including Unilever, Mars, Nestle and Orange, as well as agency networks including BBDO, JWT and Lowe.

Bob Schmetterer, chairman and CEO of Euro RSCG Worldwide and president and chief operating officer of Havas, said: "When I tapped David to run the Reckitt Benckiser business, I told him I believed it would be a great opportunity for us to create a smarter, beneficial and innovative model for running global brands."

Jones added, "Global brands are of critical importance to our industry and to Euro RSCG as an agency. Today they represent nearly 40% of our revenue worldwide."

Jones, 37, joined Euro RSCG in Australia in 1998 where he was appointed CEO. He has also been named by GQ magazine as one of Australia's top 10 businessmen under 40.
