Essential moves Full House out of London

LONDON - Essential Publishing is moving women's weekly Full House out of its London offices and scrapping monthly covermounts for its teenage magazine TV Hits! to cut the cost of producing the underperforming titles.

Essential moves Full House out of London

From Easter, Full House will be produced in Essential's Colchester offices, with sales led by Demelza Hussey, who recently took over from Laura Cohen as ad manager.

The magazine's circulation was down 23% year on year to 181,555, according to the July to December 2006 ABCs.

Most editorial staff who worked on Real magazine until it folded last month will transfer to the title.

Essential will keep a small London team, led by chief executive Alan Urry, which Luke Patten, Essential's managing director, said would "actively look to buy more titles that might be more London-centric".

TV Hits! reverts to a monthly frequency from 4 April, after publishing just two issues between December and March. Essential has cut its price from £2.25 to £1.40 and scrapped covermounted gifts, an unusual move for a teenage mag.

Patten said TV Hits! will be more closely integrated with its website, tvhits.co.uk, which will relaunch at the end of April.
