LONDON - Disney-backed sports broadcaster ESPN has relaunched and rebranded its cricket website Cricinfo to ESPNcricinfo.com today (3 June), with new content and enhanced sponsorship opportunities.

The new design aims to balance advertisement and content, while providing new opportunities for marketers.

ESPN said the strong sponsorship element in various sections of the site will benefit advertisers without detracting from the fan experience.

The new site will provide match coverage, a video player, enhanced highlights and improved navigation throughout ESPN's network of digital sites.

Cricinfo was bought by ESPN, for an undisclosed sum, in June 2007. ESPN purchased the business from the Wisden Group, which also owns the Wisden Cricketers' Almanac.
