Emap's Heat poaches Perry From News Of The World

LONDON – Emap's celebrity weekly Heat has poached Hannah Perry from the News of the World to be its new news editor.

Perry leaves the News of the World after almost three years, having joined the paper in 2001 to write for Rav Singh's showbiz column. Most recently she was a reporter on the features desk.

Mark Frith, editor of Heat, said: "We are all looking forward to working with Hannah. Her newspaper and news agency background will be of immense value to Heat and will prove invaluable in building on its unrivalled position as the celebrity magazine read each week."

Her appointment follows Jo Carnegie's recent promotion to features editor at Heat. Carnegie stepped up from role of deputy features editor, and replaced Michelle Davies who, following a brief stint at Heat South Africa, is back at Emap working on Closer as contributing editor.
