A special 36-page sampler edition will be distributed free with copies of J-17 on sale April 12 and Smash Hits on April 17.
The Sneak preview, while only half the size of the full-blown Sneak which comes with a price tag of 90p, will give readers an introduction to some of the regular features in the magazine.
In addition to celebrity news and gossip, Sneak will include: "celebrity cringe", true-life embarrassing blunders when the public comes face to face with the famous; "world of...", a celebrity goes under the spotlight; and "blinging and minging", a no-holds-barred take on what's in and what's out.
Sneak will also carry pages of celebrity pictures and picture features including "story behind the picture", an exclusive expose from the private photo albums of the stars.
Sneak editor Jennifer Cawthron said: "Sneak is an innovative new teen title that will give readers the celebrity gossip they need to 'be in the know'. Catchlined 'Gossip to Go', Sneak will deliver high-speed gossip to teenagers and will be the 'must-read' for a whole generation. Sneak will be the much-needed shot in the arm that the teen magazine market is crying out for."
The launch of Sneak will be accompanied by a national poster, print, radio and TV advertising campaign created by Mother.
Rory Bett, Emap Advertising's head of youth magazines, said: "Emap is using the experience of its great heritage in the teen market to do what it does best -- deliver a well-thought-out, no-nonsense point of difference on the newsstand and a new high-frequency advertising option in the most valuable magazine market."
