Emap names new editor for FHM US

LONDON - Emap has promoted Scott Gramling, deputy editor of FHM US, to editor to replace Brit Ed Needham who left last week to join Rolling Stone.

Gramling has been at the US edition of FHM since 1999 and was a member of the launch team.

He joined the magazine as section editor and was promoted to deputy editor in February 2001. Before joining Emap, he was associate editor of the book division at Sports Illustrated for Kids.

He has also edited several special newsstand publications and co-authored a biography on baseball player Ken Griffey Jr, who plays centre field for the Cincinnati Reds.

Marcus Rich, president of Emap Metro, said: "Scott's keen editorial skills have been on display since day one of FHM's launch in the US. His contributions have been essential to the success FHM has achieved in just two short years."

FHM is the leading men's monthly magazine in the US market. According to the latest ABC FasFax figures, FHM's circulation for the second half of 2001 grew 63.5%.

In addition to its UK and US editions, FHM is published in Singapore, Australia, Turkey, Malaysia, France, South Africa, Philippines, Romania, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Hungary, Germany and Russia.
