Emap to extend Kiss programming to former SRH stations

LONDON - Ofcom has allowed Emap Radio to broadcast Kiss programming on two Vibe stations in Bristol and East Anglia, which Emap acquired as part of its £391m takeover of Scottish Radio Holdings last summer.

Emap's request to share programming between Kiss and the Vibe stations between 10am and 4pm on weekdays supports speculation that it would seek to extend the Kiss brand.

Emap cited financial problems at the Vibe stations as justification for more networked programming, saying it would be able to achieve cost savings that will ensure their commercial viability.
